I am one of only three AAMFT-Approved Supervisors that I know of in the Sacramento valley. As such, I am qualified to provide therapists with supervision that will almost certainly be recognized by the licensing boards of states outside of California.
The AAMFT-Approved credential is different from the BBS-Approved credential that California requires. BBS-approved supervision will be recognized in California, but there is a good chance that it won’t if you ever move outside of California, meaning that you may have to start the licensure process all over again if you only received BBS-Approved Supervision!
Not fun!
If there is a chance that you’ll move outside of California any time during your career, it is a good idea to supplement your BBS-Approved supervision with AAMFT-Approved supervision. It’s a quagmire, I know, but it will make a huge difference if you ever move out of state!
I offer individual and group supervision for MFT interns and trainees, as well as licensed clinicians that need additional supervision in preparation for moving out of state. My hourly supervision rates are the same as my hourly clinical rates.
However, it is important to note that most states allow two therapists being supervised by an AAMFT-Approved Supervisor at the same time to each count that as individual supervision, which allows you to get an hour of individual supervision for half the cost if you bring a friend!
I'd really love to work with you. Clinical supervision is one of my favorite things to do! As an avid "theory geek," popular local and national presenter, and leading common factors therapist, I'm comfortable supervising from most established models of therapy.
